Connecting To Allah

While as Muslims we ought to be searching for ways of connecting with Allah around the year, this desire turns out to be especially energizing during the blessed month of Ramadan. Besides all the arrangements, we are prepared to strengthen our beliefs and mend our compromised bond with our Lord by seeking for forgiveness from Allah.

One of the greatest effects of this consecrated month is that we turns towards Quran, the words from Allah, or at least, invest much more energy reciting the Blessed Quran in Ramadan than we do during other months. In any case, have you at any point contemplated how to make the most out of this training? To get the genuine worth from the recitation of the Blessed Quran, we ought to use it to connecting with Allah.

Guidance from the Quran

Before anything, the important thing is to understand the strength of our connection with Allah ﷻ, how much love should we have for Him? Thankfully, the Holy Quran answer that question in the following verse:

Translation: And those who believe truly, love Allah intensely (Surah Al-Baqarah, Part of Verse 165)

The part of a verse 165 from the Quran emphasis what degree of love with ALLAH do we need to have; w should to be very obedient to Him. Before going deeper into the meaning, it is essential to understand that it is allowed to have love for worldly things such as wealth, children, parents, etc. However, all these material possessions are granted to us by Allah ﷻ. Therefore, our Love for Allah ﷻ should outweigh our love for everything else, including our family, wealth, desires, and even our lives.

So, how do we achieve this level of Love for Allah? Off course, by following the commands given us through the Quran. That’s why it’s important to understand the Quran as Allah ﷻ has conveyed to us through this Holy book.

Learn and understand the beautiful words of Allah SWT.

For instance, men must knows what they supposed to do when a beautiful woman passes by and their hearts are inclined to glance at her. Allah ﷻ commands in the Holy Quran:

Translation: Tell the believers to lower their gaze and guard their private parts. That is purer for them. Indeed, Allah is well aware of what they do. (Surah Noor, Verse 30)

In light of part of verse 34 quoted above, we understand that who fear ALLAH are actually who obey ALLAH instructions from ALLAH and Based on the interpretation of the above-quoted portion of a Quranic verse, those who fear Allah are actually those who obey him and observe Taqwa. Human desires or lust and other sins lurking in hearts appear desirable and attractive. Yet, we should crush them and follow the commands of Allah to abstain from immoral acts.

All man who studied this verse knows that Allah ﷻ commanded them to lower their gaze and avoid glancing women passing by. This is where the person is tested on whether he loves Allah ﷻ more than his heart and its desires or it the other way round. If he loves his heart more than he loves Allah ﷻ, he won’t hesitate in the least to break Allah’s command should he experience any difficulty breaking his heart. He will commit the sin of casting lustful glances at her, pleasing his heart but displeasing Allah. On the other hand, if the person breaks his heart to fulfill the command issued by Allah ﷻ, Allah ﷻ enters his heart and becomes his friend. This is proven by the following ayat:

Translation: None are friends of Allah but those who fear Him. (Surah Al-Anfal, Part of verse 34)

As soon as we begin to following teachings of the Quran, Allah showers his blessings and bounties upon us and makes us His friend this world and after. You are not required to an Islamic scholar or spend years in forests to get that position. Even an illiterate, poor man can assume that privilege as long as he understands what Allah has commanded him. The point is to highlight is that practically molding our lives in accordance with the teachings of the Quran is more important than just studying it.
Allah also has promises to grant entry into paradise after the end of this short life.

Translation: But as for he who feared the position of his Lord and prevented the soul from [unlawful] inclination, Then indeed, Paradise will be [his] refuge. (Surah Naziat: Verse 40, 41)

The objective of reciting the Holy Quran is to achieve Taqwa (piety), engage in noble deeds, shun sins, and become Allah’s truly obedient servants.
Another humble and valuable advice to connect with Allah through Holy Quran and step away from unlawful pleasures.

Conclusion:

To summarize above, everyone can connect with Allah and attain friendship with Him. The Quran Kareem, the word of Allah, is the easiest way to accomplish these goals. As ALLAH sooner will grant us another month of Ramadhan and shower his blessings, we should be ready for this opportunity to establish and strengthen our relationships with Allah.
